Tara Wood is a mum-of-seven, writer and a self-confessed 'badass'.

And with a house full of kids, Mum needs to remain strong-willed, however, little did she know her strength would apply to her dress sense too.

But it happened; Tara's 11-year-old daughter was embarrassed about her mum's clothing attire, so Mum took a pretty damn cool stance.

Being mums we feel our moves are scrutinised on a daily basis, and not just by the wider public, our biggest audience tends to be our children.

However, when Mia told her mum that she wasn't impressed Tara was going outside dressed in a crop top, Mum showed her who's boss.

"Mia (all indignant): 'Mom! You can't wear that! Me: Uh, watch me...and why not? Mia: Because you're forty something...and a Mom. That's not how regular Moms dress'."

"Me: 'No shit. Love you! Byeeee'!"

Heading to the shops in her crop top, Tara even bought another in a different colour while roaming around the store.

And to get the ultimate payback while teaching her daughter a valuable life lesson, the mum-of-seven is wearing her crop top to go school-supply shopping with Mia.

"I deliberately chose this outfit as a silent protest to her verbal outrage. No kid or society is going to tell me what's appropriate 'Mom wear.'"

Advising mums everywhere to: "Wear that shit. Rock that shit. Know you're the shit."

Seriously, this is one cool mama.
