Sophie Emma Rose was a mum and YouTuber, known as Sophie's Joy, who advocated for the normalisation of breastfeeding. Tragically, Sophie died in a scooter accident in Thailand last week.
Sophie Rose, 41, who was six months pregnant at the time of her death, was originally from Lancashire and had settled in Thailand with her boyfriend and four-year-old son, where she made videos about various elements of breastfeeding and child development.
In one of her popular videos, Sophie said: "I would love to live in a world where breastfeeding mothers didn't feel shame and felt they were able to feed wherever they wanted."
In a heartwarming turn of events, a number of mums have taken to social media to share selfies of themselves breastfeeding - in support of Sophie Rose and what she stood for.
One mother shared a picture of herself and her child, mid-breastfeeding, and captioned the image with a moving message about the late Sophie Rose: "Sophie was the mother of one son who was currently breastfed and was six months pregnant.
"She was an avid advocate of natural term weaning, attachment parenting, and unschooling. Whilst her vlog was not a style that everyone took to, there is no denying that the community has lost a massive presence in terms of breastfeeding older children and normalising breastfeeding for everyone."
Another mum, Samantha Leigh Hancox, shared a similar picture, explaining that while she does not support "natural term weaning", she appreciates what Sophie did.
"We all do what is best for our child, and that's all that counts. I'm sharing this brelfie in memory of Sophie Emma Rose, who has sadly been killed in a road collision six months pregnant and leaving her five-year-old without a mummy," she said.
A number of people have also taken to Twitter, sharing tweets to thank Sophie Rose for her work towards normalising breastfeeding.
