Thanks for the mammaries Georgie!

We often talk about ‘life after baby’ – our new reality as soon as we become parents. But what about ‘boobs after baby’? We think this deserves some contemplation too, because God knows they too change forever, never to go back to the way they were.

Before kids our boobs are things to love, to hate on occasion, to find a top that flatters them, to annoy us because they keep popping out of our bras. But when we become pregnant we become all too aware about what these babies were really created to do.

So when we came across a pretty damn funny blog post by a mum called the Life-Cycle of Boobs, it certainly had our attention!

Aussie mum-of-two Georgie writes the blog Junebug Mumma, with the aim to “make light of the challenging bits” – something she has definitely achieved with her tongue-in-cheek yet oh-so-true run down of the adventures of our boobs pre, during and post baby.

1. "The perky pre-pregnancy, pre-baby breast. Plump; bouncy; and longed for in hindsight."

2. "The ever-growing pregnancy pups. These babies appear to grow overnight; and they continue to get larger as the pregnancy progresses."

3. "Breastfeeding jugs. The blue collar, working class t**s. This is when the hard work starts. Humongous, rock-hard, red-hot bazookas; often sporting cracked and bleeding nipples. Streaked with blue, pulsating veins and deep red stretch marks; they’re more often than not, completely lopsided; and leaking milk."

4. "The leftovers. The saggy, old spaniel ears. Streaked with silver stretch marks; and long, stretched nipples. The nipples appear to contain lead weights, and always point south."

We're laughing 'cos it's true. SHARE if you can totally relate!
