Lori Harris from Durham, England is doing everything in her power to fund for her mum’s cancer treatment. Her mum, Lisa Harris, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2015. Doctors told her she had two years to live.

Lisa’s only option for treatment is immunotherapy. This is a relatively new medical therapy, and the mother and daughter have been travelling to Stuttgart in Germany to avail of it as it's not available in the UK.

In an effort to afford the pioneering cancer treatment, Lori has vowed to do all she can. So far, the 27-year-old has sold all her belongings including her car and family home.

“I’m in £50,000 of debt myself. I have nothing left to sell, but this is what I have to do. I will never ever give up. My mum means more than anything I could ever own,” Lori said, according to The Mirror.

Fortunately, Lisa’s therapy is working, and she is showing sure signs of improvement. Every three weeks since February of this year, she has had treatment at a cost of £25,000. The doctors have said the therapy has halved the size of the tumours already.

"Tumour markers in her blood called 'ca125's' have halved in two weeks of treatment. An outcome not to be expected for six to 12 weeks. It is working, and there is hope. If you want to help know that any donations are going to a treatment that is working! My mum is only 46 years old," Lori explained.

The 27-year-old spoke about how her mum is her best-friend and mentor and means so much to her and their community.

“My mam has always been my best mate, she is my idol in every way. She is still so young.

"I’m an only child and yet to get married and have her grandchildren. So much will be missed if she leaves us too soon,” she said.

“We still have so far to go. As an only child and a single woman, we are trying our best to do this on our own. Please, she is all I have!”
