It looks like Elton John is about to wave goodbye to the music world as he has announced his farewell tour. The Tiny Dancer singer revealed that he will embark on one more tour before he puts his microphone away.

During a press conference, he announced that he has planned a 300-date world tour just before he steps away from the spotlight. Talk about ending his career on a high.

The 70-year-old singer explained, “It'll be a global tour. And it's the last time that I will be touring and travel the world.”

However, all is not lost, the singer isn’t ready for retirement just yet. The Grammy winner stressed that he will still be making music.

“The announcement is that I am not going to be touring anymore, apart from the last tour, which is going to start in September of this year,” he stressed.

Every parent will understand why Elton wants to stop touring, “My priorities have changed in my life. My life has changed. The priorities of my life have changed. My priorities now are my children, my husband and my family.”

Elton has two sons- Zachary and Elijah- who will join their dad for a portion of the tour. Elton admitted he cannot wait to spend time with his darling boys once the tour comes to an end.

“When I stop they're going to be 10 and 8, and that's a very important time in their lives,” he shared.

The Candle In The Wind singer has been touring since the tender age of 17, “I thought the time is right to say thank you to all my fans around the world globally and to say goodbye and just to have a breath."

The music icon will make sure that this tour is his best yet, “It'll be the best production I've ever done. It'll be a wonderful way to thank everyone. I want to go out with a big bang."

It’s been 53 years since the Don’t Go Breaking Your Heart singer started touring, so we’re not surprised to hear that Elton is ready to take his final bow. Will you be going to see him on his farewell tour?
