Leaving your son or daughter with a babysitter for the first time can be daunting.
So, we weren’t that shocked by an email one dad sent his son’s sitter after she asked if there was anything she needed to know about caring for the baby.
In fact, Bryan Elliott from Philadelphia didn’t just simply answer her question with a quick list of emergency numbers and bed times; no, he sent her back a very detailed email.
Posting a screen grab of the old email in the Parenting subreddit, he wrote: “My wife forwarded me an old email I’d sent to my son’s first babysitter”.
From telling her how to use a soother to knowing whether his son has a wet or dirty nappy, Bryan doesn’t miss a thing.

In fact, his “dealing with poo” section is very detailed and informative.
“1. Lift his butt up by his feet using one hand,” he wrote.
“2. Pull off the diaper and start breathing through your mouth
“3. Carefully wipe the poo off using the baby wipes. Make sure his testicles and the rim of his penis get properly cleaned; it’s weird but infections suck, and he can’t do it himself.
“4. Slather a layer of zinc cream on his butt and any affected (ie: lobster-like) areas.”While we laughed at first reading through the list, it’s definitely a handy baby instruction manual to have in the house somewhere!"
