A recent survey carried out by Pampers has revealed that nappies have been deemed the most essential item to have in a baby changing bag. 82% of people surveyed said nappies were the most essential item, closely followed by wipes 80%. Other essential items for the baby changing bag included spare change of clothes (36%), bottles (27%) and nappy sacks (21%).
The survey also revealed that 70% of parents with kids aged under four claim to notice a link between lower quality and priced nappies, and their likelihood to leak. 43% claimed they notice more leakages if they use a lower quality nappy and 27% said they notice more leakages if they use a lower priced nappy.
Just over three quarters (76%) of parents with kids aged under four claim they would spend more money on nappies to avoid the dreaded poonami and in addition, 40% claimed they would buy leak-proof diapers all the time if a poonami could be avoided.
To help parents stop the poonami panic and leakages, Pampers has created a revolutionary innovative Stop and Protect Pocket™. The Pampers diaper pants with the Stop & Protect pocket™ has up to 12 hours of all-around leakage protection which will combat the dreaded poonami and put parents’ minds at ease. The revolutionary pocket is available on Pampers Baby Dry diaper pants and Pampers Premium Protection diaper pants.
When purchasing nappies, parents across the UK cited that the three most important things were high quality nappies for baby’s skin (29%), price (27%) and avoiding leakages and absorbency (19%).
The recent survey also revealed that just over a third (34%) of parents with a child aged under four claim a major nappy leakage is of most concern to them when out and about with their baby, with almost 6 in 10 (56%) claiming that a nappy leakage has forced them to go home from an outing early. Of those surveyed, almost a quarter (22%) claim their baby’s sleep is regularly disrupted by a poonami, with two thirds (66%) claiming that baby’s sleep is ever disrupted by a poonami.
And, when it comes to tackling the dreaded poonami, each parent from the survey carried out claimed that females (82%) take on the role the most, with 41% of men significantly more likely to claim that their partner tackles poonami occurrences.
Nicole Hallak, Brand Director, Pampers UK & Ireland said: “At Pampers, we are constantly innovating to deliver the outstanding performance parents expect, and babies deserve. The dreaded poonami panic has been a major concern for parents for years and that’s why we’re proud of the revolutionary Pampers Stop & Protect™. We know from our latest research that 7 in 10 (70%) parents with kids aged under 4 claim to notice a link between lower quality or lower priced nappies and their likelihood to leak, and a major diaper leakage causes serious disruption for parents and for babies alike, so having a trusted option ensures there are no diaper disasters.”
