Mum life takes on many different variations, depending on your type of parenting.

The list is endless, you can be a helicopter mum who hovers, an attached mum who never wants the kids to leave your side, a gentle mum, an a**hole mum, etc.

But how can we decipher what category we fall into? How do we know which we are doing, when in fact we just trying to do our best?

Kirsty McKenzie has figured out what kind of mum category she falls into and we're backing her up 100 per cent, because we believe most mums will fall into the same one.

"I feel like a square peg in a world full of round holes," the mum-of-three announced.

Kirsty believes she craves her personal space too much to ever be considered an attachment mum, however, she does love nothing more than holding her kids close.

But she is also on the fence with regards to being a helicopter mum, because Kirsty is the type of mum who is certain her kids need to learn through practice, nevertheless, she will hover, making sure siblings don't kill each other and what not.

"I hate being the a**hole mum, but on occasion I will have a right old giggle, [...] at the catastrophic behavioural implosions that occur upon the simple utterance of the word 'no'."

"I would love to think that I can master the art of gentle parenting, but holy snapping ducksh*t these little people are testing. There are only so many times a 'for f**ks sake' can be muttered under my breath before the already thinning hair on my head becomes at risk of literally being pulled out."

The mum-of-three reckons that sometimes she could end up needing the time out more than her children, but she comes to the conclusion pretty quickly of where she fits on the parenting scale.

"You're a boy mum, or girl mum, you're a breastfeeding mum, or a baby led weaning mum, or a fit mum. Never just 'a mum'."

"[But] how about 'I actually have no idea what I'm meant to be doing with these tiny humans, and I really just want everyone to survive till the end of the day' mum... where's that f**king category?"

Yep, we cannot argue with Kirsty, because we're certainly jumping head first into that category too - will any of you mums be joining us?
