Gemma Atkinson has been adjusting to life as a mum since she gave birth to her first child, a baby girl, on July 4.
The mum confirmed her daughter’s birth in a touching Instagram post over the weekend but has kept a relatively low profile online as she gets to grips with parenthood.
Fans were delighted when the mum shared a sweet update on her daughter last night. Taking to Instagram, Gemma thanked her followers for the loving messages they’ve been sending since she announced the birth of her baby girl.
“Thank you for all your lovely messages,” the new mum said.
Gemma couldn’t help but gush about her newborn, “Our daughter is so wonderful. I’m slowly getting to grips with motherhood, learning loads and I’m loving being in this little cocoon with her.”
She continued, “I feel extremely lucky to be on this journey with mine and Gorks’ little human.”
The mum also joked about how her body has continued to change, especially since she started breastfeeding. “PS. didn't think my chebs could get any bigger… I was wrong… she defo ain't going hungry," she joked.
The actress gave birth to her daughter at The Royal Bolton Hospital.
Gemma praised the staff who eased her nerves during the birth.
“Thank you SO much to the Midwives, nurses & doctors at The Royal Bolton Hospital who did the most incredible job taking care of myself and my baby.
“You’re all so wonderful and I’m so grateful to have had you all with me and to have been under your care these past four days,” the new mum shared.
