He is, without a doubt, one of the funniest men in the business, but it was comedian and actor John Bishop’s children who are at the centre of attention this week.

The star, aged 50, took to Instagram to share a heart-warming update from his Father’s Day celebrations with his three sons: 22-year-old Joe, 20-year-old Luke, and 18-year-old Daniel.

John was in his usual joking form as he posted the shot of himself and his boys in a lift, the caption reading: “Last night the Bishop boys took me for a belated Father’s Day dinner…I paid, typical.”

However, it wasn’t John’s ‘dad humour’ that left his legion of fans so fascinated and excited – it was the fact that his three sons are practically CLONES of him!

John’s 197K-strong following gave him a run for his money with their hilarious comments, too, as they pointed out the similarities between their hairstyle and teeth as well as their looks!

“The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, does it? Bet you lot get through some serious Colgate,” joked one follower.

“They’re clearly not the milkman’s kids,” quipped another, while a fellow fan added, “There’s no denying they’re Bishop children!”

Some of the responses were touching, with one observant fan pointing out: “What I love most about this picture, is the pride in John’s eyes. Lovely boys.”

The three boys are John’s sons with his wife of 24 years, Melanie. The pair separated for a year-and-a-half back in 2000, but eventually reunited.

In an interview with The Mirror, John previously opened up about fatherhood and shared the advice he gives to his sons as they navigate their teens and twenties.

“When you grow up, try to be a good man. I don’t want them thinking money is more important than people. I hate the idea that ambition needs to be more important than reality,” he explained.

“You can end up at the top of the tree and be on your own. I don’t think that’s worth it. They have to ask themselves every day, from when they get up to when they go to bed, did they do harm. Have you been rude, have you done something you’re not proud of?

“I tell them we all have days like that, but in the end, if you’re going to have more good days than bad, then you’re going to be a good man.”

It sounds like John is doing a stand-up job – pardon the pun!
