This may surprise you (probably not, though), but British mothers will hear the word 'mum' a staggering 9,563 times each year.
A recent survey found the typical mother will hear cries, hollers and demands for ‘mummy’ or ‘mum’ 26 times a day, on average.
Researchers polled mums with children still living at home, and revealed a fascinating snapshot of their average year in numbers.
British mums are asked for help 3,686 times every year by their kids, but sometimes it may feel like 10,000 (in our opinion).
Mums will also prepare 291 packed lunches, iron 239 piles of clothes, and spend three hours every week keeping the peace between siblings.
It certainly sounds as though British mums spend a lot of their time doing chores (which is true), but they also get 1,523 cuddles, and three hours of story time every week.
The survey also found that 58 percent of the women polled said being a mum is much harder work than their regular job, which sounds about right.
Eight out of the 10 mums polled claimed that being a mum is the most challenging thing they have ever done.
Challenging but AMAZING, that is.
