He’s had his fair share of ups and downs this year, following the controversy at the Rio Olympics, but US swimmer Ryan Lochte is ending 2016 on a joyful note.
The star took to his social media channels to announce that he and girlfriend Kayla Reid are expecting their first child together.
The parents-to-be chose the perfect way to share the news, too – underwater, from the depths of the swimming pool!
“My Christmas gift came early this year, can’t wait for next year! Best news I’ve ever received,” wrote the 32-year-old.
Over on her Insta, Kayla added: “Just when you think you have it all figured out, life always surprises you with blessings when you least expect it. So excited to share this news with all of you!”
The fancy photo shoot attracted plenty of attention across social media, and the messages of congratulations have been pouring in over the past 12 hours.
“How exciting! So happy for you,” wrote one follower, while many others branded the images ‘amazing’ and ‘cute’.
