A Kentucky mum has used her wedding dress to perform the greatest act of kindness.

Justi Underwood Bates sent her beautiful wedding gown away to be made into ‘angel’ dresses.

The angel gowns are used for babies who unfortunately don’t make it home from the NICU after they’re born.

Justi posted a photo of the gowns to Facebook and revealed:

“17 little gowns were made from my dress and as beautiful as they are I pray they are never needed.”

Regrettably, it is estimated 2% of babies who are admitted to the NICU will not make it home, which makes Justi’s act of kindness and compassion quite significant.

These gowns will act as a small gesture of comfort to parents somewhere, someday.

After being inundated with requests, Justi also posted the details of the company who completed the alterations.

Is this something you could do with your wedding dress? Realistically, when are we ever going to wear it again?

We think this mum's idea is one of the best we have ever heard.
