We love a good social media trend. From the classic ‘hot dogs or legs’ to the consistently funny ‘dogs with eyebrows’, we could spend hours scrolling through a good hashtag.

But this latest social media trend has us raising eyebrows as Japanese mums have noticed some similarities between their babies and fruit.

In a bizarre new trend, mums have been posting pictures of their baby’s bottoms covered with peaches.

Yes, you read that correctly.

The mums are tagging the pictures with the Japanese characters for peach and it has become quite the thread.

Whether asleep, crawling or playing with toys, mums are there waiting for the perfect shot.

It all began with a competition from a photo printing company Kodomono asked parents to share pictures of their children that they want to keep.

After a little creativity, the peach bottom was born with thousands sharing their very own interpretations of the hashtag.

And however weird this trend may be we just can't strop scolling.

May you never look at a peach the same way again.
