Single mum-of-two Ronja Wiedenbeck has experienced ovarian cysts for years, so she wasn't too worried when she was rushed to hospital recently.

But the Penzance mum was very worried for her son.

That's because the medication she was given to help with her stomach pain wasn't suitable for her baby son, Rio, who was with her - and that meant she couldn't breastfeed him.

Ronja was worried as her 11-month-old son won't drink milk or formula from a bottle, and is transitioning to solids.

So she did what all 21st century mums do when they need the help of strangers: she put out a plea on Facebook, asking members of the Breastfeeding Yummy Mummies page to help her breastfeed her boy.

And the response was absolutely heartwarming.

Within an hour, a stranger was by her hospital bed nursing Rio.

In fact, she was inundated with offers of help from women all around the country - she got almost 1,000 responses!

During her week long stay in hospital, five different women have breastfed the little boy, even taking him home to nurse him during the day.

Ronja later posted words of thanks to her 'angel mamas' for coming to her aid in such a wonderful way.

"So thankful to my other angel mama's who came to my rescue to nurse my son whilst I was unable to do so due to being on unsafe medication in hospital," she wrote.

"The support between us breastfeeding mothers has been incredible and just goes to show that where there is a will, there is a way!!!!"

Too right.

Breastfeeding mums need to support each other, and this is the most beautiful show of support we've seen in a long time.
