This is a time when families should be gathering together to celebrate the festive season, so our hearts are going out to the family of young Zakeriya Liban-Osman today.

The 11-year-old was reported missing from his London home yesterday evening, after going out to get fast food and failing to return.

According to reports, Zakeriya has never gone missing before, and his family are becoming increasingly worried about him. Local police have now launched an investigation and have appealed to the public for information regarding his whereabouts.

Zakeriya is described as a black boy with short black hair. When last seen, he was wearing his school uniform - black trousers, white shirt, black blazer – and a grey coat and black-and-white schoolbag. The above image is the only one that has been released to the media.

Metropolitan Police have asked anyone with information to get in touch as soon as possible. If you think you can help find Zakeriya, you are asked to contact Harrow CID on 101, or call or text Missing People on 116 000. Alternatively, you can get in contact with your local police station.

We are thinking of Zakeriya and his family, and we are praying for his safe return.
