It is truly saddening that, on the same day that one child was found abandoned in the Philippines, it is being reported that another little baby was left all alone in hospital just hours after being born.

Police have this weekend launched an appeal for information on the whereabouts of Anna Chudy, who reportedly walked out of hospital without her newborn, just hours after giving birth.

Anna had been admitted to Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow on Wednesday night of this week, and she delivered a healthy baby boy via Caesarean-section in the early hours of Thursday morning.

When Ms Chudy went missing from the hospital shortly after, leaving her son behind her, hospital staff checked their CCTV camera for clues as to where she might be. It has since emerged that the new mother was caught on camera leaving the hospital at 10:30am on Friday morning, accompanied by a man.

Launching an urgent appeal for information, a representative from the Metropolitan Police issued a statement, saying: “This is a vulnerable woman who needs to be located as soon as possible so she can be reunited with her baby boy.”

“We are not looking to trace her with the intention of pursuing any criminal matters against her, our only concern is her safe return,” they added.
