Being a new mother can evoke a range of emotions, especially for very young mums, which is why we feel for everyone involved in the following report.

An Argentinean police officer has come in for major praise this weekend, after reportedly breastfeeding a hungry baby after its 15-year-old mother ‘ran away’.

According to reports, the unnamed mother was involved in an argument with her child’s father and grandfather, and – upset and frustrated – she ran out of their home.

The child’s father told local news that the baby grew upset and began crying ‘uncontrollably’ shortly after. Not knowing what to do, and unable to calm the child, he brought the little one to the local police station.

There, Officer Silvina Rojas was moved by the story and the scene before her and decided to help in whatever way she could. Realising that the baby was hungry, the mother – who has an eight-month-old at home – began to nurse the child herself.

Officer Rojas also proceeded to purchase nappies and clothing for the child, out of concern.

Thankfully, the baby’s mother returned home after a few hours, but the case is now being investigated by child protective services.

SHARE to send a pat on the back to this caring officer, who went above and beyond her duty.
