Coleen Rooney, who is expecting her fourth child with husband Wayne is said to be “devastated” after the footballer was arrested for drink-driving while with another woman.
Laura Simpson, 29, met Wayne in a nightclub and the pair took a taxi back to where she had parked her car. She said Wayne was driving her home when they were pulled over by police for a broken brake light.
The disgraced footballer was reportedly three times over the limit and was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning.
Coleen who was on holidays in Majorca at the time cut her trip short and flew home to confront her husband.
According to The Sun, Laura received a phone call from the footballer’s wife asking her to recount the events of that night.
Laura said Coleen initially contacted her through Instagram before calling her the next day to talk.
Laura said: “She asked me to tell her what happened. She seemed unhappy with the fact that we had left a nightclub in a cab together to go to my car.
“She was polite. She asked whether my car was parked outside the nightclub. I told her it wasn’t and that it was outside a friend’s house and we had got a taxi to it.
“She asked, ‘Was your car not outside the front?’
“I told her the truth, that it wasn’t and that we had left in a cab together to get my car which was parked outside a friend’s.
“I apologised to her and she said, ‘You have nothing to say sorry for’ ”.
Laura said Wayne had flirted with her and that they’d “had a kiss, a hug and some banter” together. However, she insisted she is not “a homewrecker”.
Coleen, who is four months pregnant, is said to be livid about the encounter and Wayne’s arrest.
Just a few weeks ago, the couple were on cloud nine after Coleen revealed the news that they were expecting again.
Coleen took to Twitter to make the joyful announcement on August 18, tweeting: “So happy!...Never denied the news, but I was always protecting it! Had scan and all checks are fine…Baby number four is on its way!”
However, a friend told The Mail Online she believes the couple will try to work things out.
“Only time will tell whether they can rebuild their marriage. Coleen thinks she's the one who has kept the marriage together”, the source said.
