She recently took to her social media channels to ask her friends and followers to stop passing insensitive comments about the huge life changes that are ahead of her as a mum-to-be, so it’s not surprising to hear Maia Dunphy’s latest thoughts on impending motherhood.
The presenter, who is expecting her first child with comedian husband Johnny Vegas, has admitted that she is ‘struggling’ with the changes that pregnancy is bringing.
In an interview with Goss.ie, the 38-year-old said: “I struggle with the body changes, I’m not one of those natural earth mothers, I have to be honest.”
She also revealed that she has finally given in and gone maternity shopping, adding: “I went out and finally bought big pants ‘cause you do put on weight all around your hips and I was uncomfortable all day, going, ‘Why am I grumpy?’”
“I’ve maternity jeans on now, and when you buy the right clothes you go, ‘ahhh’. It’s nice. I’m finally accepting it,” Maia said.
Maia announced her pregnancy back in January, going on to reveal that she and Johnny are expecting a son.
