TV Creator and film director, Garry Marshall has sadly passed away at the age of 81.
The New York native was behind some of the most loved televisions shows and movies from the last 40 years including Happy Days, Pretty Women, Beaches, The Princess Diaries and more recently Mother’s Day.
His major success was rewarded in 2014 when he received the Laurel Award for TV Writing Achievement from the Writer’s Guild of America.
Garry was the man who gave of Hollywood’s most well-known faces their start and many of them have paid tribute to the legend on social media since news of his passing broke.

It’s been revealed that Garry died due to “complications of pneumonia following a stroke at a hospital in Burbank, California,” his rep said in a statement.
"The family requests no flowers. Donations in the name of Garry Marshall can be made to The Saban Community Clinic, formerly known as the Los Angeles Free Clinic, The Intensive Care Unit at Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank, and Northwestern University Undergraduate Scholarship Fund."
A memorial service is planned to be held later this year, to mark the writer’s birthday.
