Profound love: Gary Barlows new tattoo is dedicated to someone special

Gary Barlow has unveiled his new tattoo and the romantic reason he got it.

The Take That singer decided get inked to celebrate 24 years since he met his wife, Dawn Andrews.

The 47-year-old uploaded a black and white snap to Instagram which shows the letter 'D' on his right wrist with a little love heart underneath.

What a lovely way to mark the special occasion.

Gary captioned the post, ''As Dawn and I approach our 24th Year together (19 married) I’m always looking for new ways to feel closer to her. Especially as we spend so much time apart. Now I just have to look down to feel that connection. A good way of remembering how important people are to us is to try and imagine life without them.''

He continued, ''That’s always a good cue to kiss them a little more and tell them you Love them a lot more. If you’re lucky enough to have found Love, protect it. #love.''

The couple has been together since they met when she was a backing dancer on Take That's Nobody Else tour in 1995.

They tied the knot in 2000 and are parents to three children together; 18-year-old Daniel, 16-year-old Emily, and nine-year-old Daisy.

Their daughter Poppy was tragically delivered stillborn in 2012.

Gary's fans were in awe of the gesture and were quick to comment on the post.

One wrote, ''Gary, that is the sweetest thing I have ever read. You both are so lucky.''

Another said, ''These moving words spoken with the heart are a demonstration of true pure and profound love. You and Dawn are a wonderful couple.'

We think it's so sweet - happy anniversary Gary and Dawn and here's to many more.
