Ryan Lochte and his fiancée Kayla Rae Reid are overjoyed to become parents for the first time.
The couple welcomed a beautiful baby boy last week and they’ve named him Caiden Zane.
26-year-old Kayla has since shared the first photo of the little boy on Instagram and revealed details of her traumatic labour.
“After almost 26 hours of an unfortunate induced labour, the greatest joy entered our lives. Caiden Zane Lochte born 6-8-17. 7lbs and 14oz of pure bliss,” she wrote.
The young mum explains that when she met her new son, she was overcome with joy.
“I immediately placed him on my chest, he looked me in the eyes and just gazed. I burst into tears and I will cherish that unforgettable moment for the rest of my life. That moment, I felt so many sweet unexplainable feelings and an infinite amount of love.”
She also revealed that Ryan stayed by her side throughout her labour, offering her encouragement and support. Kayla said the look on Ryan’s face was “adorable and priceless” when he saw his son for the first time.
“I'm in awe every day and I love watching our little man grow daily. His face melts my heart,” the new mum concluded her emotional post.
It’s been a whirlwind romance for the Olympic swimmer and his Playboy model fiancée. The couple only met last year, got engaged in October and announced Kayla’s pregnancy in December.
The couple made an adorable and unusual pregnancy announcement by posting a photo of themselves in a swimming pool, with Ryan swimming underwater to kiss Kayla’s bump.
“My Christmas gift came early this year, can’t wait for next year! Best news I’ve ever received ” the 32-year-old Olympian wrote alongside the photo.
Kayla posted a similar photo to mark their special announcement, writing: “Just when you think you have it all figured out, life always surprises you with blessings when you least expect it. So excited to share this news with all of you!”
Ryan shared the good news that the couple’s son had finally arrived last week with an emotional Instagram post.
“Never seen (sic) a miracle happen before. Until this morning at 5:46 am when Caiden Zane Lochte was born. 7lbs, 14oz, 22 inches. Can’t stop crying tears of joy. Dream come true!”
We wonder how long it will be before little Caiden Zane begins baby swimming lessons!
