Beyoncé isn’t known as ‘Queen Bey’ for nothing. The singer, who is currently expecting twins with husband Jay-Z, celebrated her baby shower at the weekend – and it was truly fit for pop royalty.

The 35-year-old was surrounded by family and friends as she enjoyed her African-themed bash, referred to as the ‘Carter Push Party’.

The shower was reportedly held at a private residence in Beverly Hills, and while details of the bash were kept under wraps, Beyoncé took to social media to share some truly gorgeous snapshots.

In one, the star – who is, of course, already mum to five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy – is seen dressed in traditional African garb, her blooming bump proudly on display.

In two others, she is joined by her husband – real name Shawn Carter – as they embrace at this most special time in their lives. Adorable.

Obviously, there was quite a bit of hype surrounding the shower, and aerial photos captured some of the décor details – including the words ‘Carter Push Party’ and ‘Twinning’ spelled out in gold balloons. Nice touch!

According to reports, all of Beyoncé’s closest friends were in attendance, including fellow Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland as well as pregnant tennis ace, Serena Williams.

A source opened up about the festivities to E!: “The party was very family-friendly, with Blue Ivy and lots of her friends running around the grounds of the estate.

“There was a huge tent erected on the property, where most of the shower took place.

“The décor was African-themed and very colourful, with lounge seating areas, floor pillows and rugs on the floor.”

Beyoncé announced her pregnancy back in February, posting a stunning photo of herself against a wall of fresh flowers.

“We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes,” she wrote.

Of course, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive ever since regarding the gender of the unborn twins. Many believe that Beyoncé may have given the game away, by posting a sweet Easter photo of herself and Blue Ivy, surrounded by two pink flowers.

Beyoncé previously opened up about pregnancy and how it changed how she looks at her body.

Speaking to Vogue, she said: “I just feel my body means something completely different. I feel a lot more confident about it. Even being heavier, thinner, whatever. I feel a lot more like a woman. More feminine, more sensual. And no shame.”

It sounds like the countdown is well and truly on! We will, of course, keep you updated on Bey’s pregnancy journey.
