She gave birth to her first child just three weeks ago, but already reality TV star Jill Duggar has found herself on the receiving end of criticism over her parental skills on social media.
The slinging match kicked off after the new mum, a star of the popular US show 19 Kids and Counting, shared a photo of herself holding baby son Israel in a sling.
It didn’t take long for her followers to call her out for how she had positioned her little one, with some accusing her putting her child in a ‘dangerous’ position.
“You would think after having 82 siblings and being a midwife she would know how to use a sling properly,” wrote one commenter.
Meanwhile, another instructed Jill: “She needs to raise that sling up about a foot. He’s supposed to be laying across her chest, not her waist. The problem is that the baby is horizontal in the carrier, potentially collapsing its airway – like laying in a hammock.”
Poor Jill, she clearly did not know what she was drawing herself into by posting that seemingly innocent photo.
Jill and husband Derick welcomed little baby Israel on April 7, with her parents announcing: “We are so thankful for a healthy mom and baby! Love this sweet baby Israel! We are happy grandparents and we promise more pictures soon!”
