The next season of Strictly Come Dancing doesn’t hit our TV screens until September, but we’ve already been treated to plenty of information about the upcoming season.
We may know what pro-dancers are returning, but there’s been no word on an official celebrity lineup just yet. Everyone from Mary Berry to Coleen Rooney has been rumoured to be taking part in the show, but there’s one group of stars who have been completely banned from taking part.
According to reports, the BBC is no longer allowing reality stars to take part on the show. They said certain reality stars are solely using the show as a way to boost their celebrity status.
“Bosses are now fed up of hearing the same people bandying around their own names just to shift a few copies of some weight-loss DVD. In light of this, they’ve put in place their own reality star ban to stop them from cashing in on the show,” a source said.
Mark Wright and Alison Hammond previously took part in Strictly Come Dancing, but you can now forget about seeing stars from Made In Chelsea, Big Brother or The Only Way Is Essex on the popular BBC show from now on.
The show recently revealed their biggest pro-dancer lineup of all time, with familiar faces Kevin Clifton and Oti Mabuse returning, as well as new additions Graziano Di Prima, Johannes Radebe and Luba Mushtuk.
The sixteenth season of Strictly Come Dancing will air in the autumn. It is understood that the celebrity lineup will be announced at the beginning of September.
We cannot wait to find out who will be taking part!
