Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey are joining the fight against cancer.

 

The two actors are part of many celebrities that have announced their support for the Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) charity.

 

The charitable program is part of Entertainment Industry Foundation and aims to raise funds for for cancer research.

 

SU2C will be airing its annual telecast on September 7th with the help of co-executive producer Bradley Cooper.

 

 

The Silver Linings Playbook actor recently told E! How ‘proud’ he is to be able to participate in this year’s show.

 

“This show reminds everyone that you are never alone… that there is a community of support out there when you need it most. That's the power of SU2C.

 

“Most importantly, the telecast showcases the significant progress being made in the fight against cancer, instilling hope in those facing the disease.”

 

Bradley has been known for his determined stand against cancer, since he tragically lost his father to it in 2011.

 

 

This year, for the biennial broadcast, many celebrities will be seen in attendance including Ed Helms, Jennifer Garner, and Keith Urban.

 

The show will be a fantastic program for those who have cancer or know loved ones with the ailment to learn about cutting edge treatments and hear inspiring stories from survivors.

 

The Great British Bake off has also declared its support for the charity in its new series on All 4.

 

 

SU2C, originating in the US, has already gained rapid support, raising £35 million so far and funding 35 groundbreaking trials.
