Comedian Russell Brand is expecting his first child with girlfriend, Laura Gallacher, and the soon-to-be dad has been speaking about his impending fatherhood recently
The 41-year-old, who has always been vocal of his wish to start a family, was speaking on the Jonathan Ross Show over the weekend when he said that he may never impose a gender upon his child so they won’t be restricted by labels.
“We don’t know the gender I may not even ever impose a gender upon it, let the child grow up and be the whatever the hell it is, never tell it there is such a concept,” he told Jonathan.

In fairness, Russell has long been a supporter of the LGBT community and has always backed same-sex marriage so his plan to raise his child as gender neutral does not come as a shock, but it is refreshing as we try to become a more accepting world.

Russell revealed he was expecting his first child at the start of the year, sharing a photo of him reading Dean Beaumont’s The Expectant Dad's Handbook.
“Right then. My Mum bought me this. Time to get ready!”, he captioned the photo.
The Sun initially reported the pregnancy back in 2015, but the Get Him to the Greek star never official confirmed or denied the rumours.
A the time, The Sun reported that a source said the was “absolutely made up" by the news, adding: "Russell might have bedded many of the world’s most stunning women but now it’s all about Laura and becoming a dad."
“Most of his closest friends have children and he was desperate to start a family. He and Laura are thrilled to bits at the prospect of becoming parents. They have shared the happy news with close family and friends."
Russell and Laura have been on and off for nine years, splitting in 2007 before reconciling and then parting ways again in 2009.
They were then spotted holidaying in Rome in 2014, and are said to be determined to make their relationship work.
We can't wait to hear what name the couple choose.
