They have had their fair share of ups and downs following their marriage split in 2014, and it seems relations between Danielle Lloyd and Jamie O’Hara are still strained.

Footballer Jamie, who shares three young sons with Danielle, took to Twitter last night to plead with the reality star to ‘let him see his boys’.

The former couple – who were married for two years – share seven-year-old Archie, six-year-old Harry, and four-year-old George.

In a very public move, Jamie directly tweeted Danielle, saying: “Can you please let me see my boys – why are you doing this to them? I love them and miss them. I don’t want to go back to court.”

When a Twitter user criticised Jamie for bringing such a personal matter into a public forum, the 30-year-old was unapologetic.

“[I’m] just a dad who wants to see his children. Try and deal with this on a daily basis and see how it feels. I don’t have a bottomless pit of money,” he added.

Reaction to Jamie’s messages was mixed; while some believed he should have kept his custody issues private, others openly shared their support.

“Come on, everyone. Surely you can see how desperate he is that he’s resorted to publicly tweeting her. Children should not be used as weapons,” tweeted one follower.

“Danielle Lloyd is obviously not answering or replying. If this is the only way to teach her, then so be it. Daddies are important too. Good luck,” wrote another.

One man was more concerned about the former couple’s little ones, as she chimed in: “This should be kept private. Please don’t drag your kids through the press. I hope you’re both civil enough to sort it, for your kids. All the best.”

While Danielle did not directly address Jamie’s claims online, a spokesperson responded with a statement to the Mirror Online – stating that concerns for eldest child Archie’s mental health are at play.

“Jamie’s solicitors have been thoroughly informed of the situation with the couple’s children. Jamie, in turn, is fully aware of what is going on,” the rep said.

“Danielle’s priority is now – and will always be – the safety and welfare of the children.

“Their mental health is her utmost concern, and she refuses to risk that deteriorating any further than it already has – particularly with their eldest son Archie.”

Danielle recently welcomed her fourth child, her first with partner Michael O’Neill; an as yet unnamed baby boy.
