Children are fearless and inquisitive little creatures which is why it's up to us to ensure they come to no harm while exploring their little world and getting a feel for the environment around them.

One new dad, who is quickly learning just how daring children can really be, opened up during an interview with much-loved chat show host, Ellen DeGeneres, and admitted that this aspect of parenthood was not something he was prepared for.

38-year-old Ashton Kutcher, who welcomed baby daughter Wyatt Isabelle with wife Mila Kunis in 2014, insists his daughter is utterly oblivious to danger, telling viewers: "She literally tries to kill herself on a regular basis."

In a succinct summation of parenthood which is bound to resonate with mums and dads everywhere, Ashton tells Ellen: "You spend the first five years just trying to keep your child alive. You'd think they come with instinct around fire and large falls - but they don't!"

"Then you hit a point where it's to just about survival anymore, it's about preventing them from killing themselves," he continued as he revealed the extent of his baby girl's intrepid nature.

Discussing an image of Wyatt which the couple's fans and followers insist was the first "proper" photo the child's parents shared with the world, the Two and a Half Men star explained: "She is standing by a dam - and she would just jump right off that!"

We're glad to know celeb parents face the same daily battles as us mere mortals!
