When Brandi McGlathery proudly uploaded a photo of her newborn son Timothy Eli, she had no reason to believe she would receive anything but congratulations on his safe arrival.

So when she discovered that Facebook had removed her son's image from the site, having deemed it 'too controversial', Brandi was understandably outraged.

A photo of the newborn, who was born without a nose, was considered unsuitable after it was used by pro-life campaigners to publicise the newborn's story.

Shocked that an innocent photo of her little boy could be removed, the mum-of-three vented her frustrations, posting: "Excuse my language, but I’ll be damned if Facebook keeps me from sharing my baby’s story!"

Commenting on her son's story, Brandi said: "Every ultrasound I ever had came back normal, so I was expecting a perfectly healthy baby boy. But to my surprise Eli was born without a nose."

Devastated that her son's image could warrant such a negative response, Brandi wrote: "It sickens me that I can see pictures of half naked women, drugs and negativity, but my child is too ‘controversial’. What has happened to humanity?"

Despite suffering from the rare condition which means he was born without without nasal passages and sinus cavities, Brandi's little boy is perfectly healthy, but will require surgery in the future.

Having set up a fundraising page for her son, Brandi requested people keep her little boy in their thoughts, saying: "I would be so grateful for anything anyone could spare, but if you cannot afford to help with money I will be just as appreciative for prayers for my sweet Eli"

Determined to make her son's journey as easy as possible, Brandi said: "He has a long road a head of him and we need all the support we can get."

As a result of his mum's determination, Eli's photo was republished by Facebook.

Wishing the lovely Eli all the very best on his journey!
