Just days after taking to social media to inform fans and followers she had taken an overdose, famous mum-of-four, Sinead O' Connor, has offered an insight into her current condition.

The 48-year-old singer /songwriter, who was taken under the care of professionals on Sunday night following an appeal from concerned members of the public, has taken to her Facebook page today in order to express her upset.

In a post which exposed the star's fragility earlier today, the Nothing Compares 2 U singer reached out to her family members and encouraged them to support her during this difficult time.

Sounding confused and vulnerable, Sinead wrote: "To my children and family. You came to the hospital to see me on life support. You left before I woke and you haven't been back. Please why are you doing these things to me?"

Sinead, who welcomed her youngest child in December 2006, explained she was struggling to come to terms with her hospitalisation, writing: "I need you. I need your love. I can't manage what's being done to me. I didn't do anything to deserve the way im being treated."

In the heartwrenching message which has garnered much attention since its publication this afternoon, the singer continued:  "Jake, Roisin, everyone. Please. Come and tell me why this is all happening. Come and tell me I'm loved. Come and tell.me I'm wanted and cherished. Why did you leave before I woke?"

"Been missing you all for weeks. To hear that you were here and left was agony. Now I am utterly alone. Please. Please love me. Please come to the hospital and spend time with me and help Fix all this. Please. I'm begging you."

Finishing the post on a heartbreaking note, the acclaimed singer appealed to her family for their company, writing; "All, please, come see me and make me feel like I'm loved. Help me Instead of punishment . Please please I beg you come see me and help."

Sinead, who told relatives they "were dead to her" in another post this morning, has been inundated with messages of support since Sunday, with fans urging her to show courage and bravery in the face of her struggles.
