She recently opened up about the challenge of leaving her family home and taking up her Las Vegas residency, but it seems that this star’s loved ones are close to her heart no matter what the distance.

Singer Celine Dion touched hearts recently when she performed a moving version of ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’, dedicating it to her husband René Angelil and their children.

Angelil, 73, is currently battling cancer and his health has been failing of late, with the father-of-three now unable to speak.

Addressing the audience before the music started up, the 47-year-old star said: “I hope by now you have got the message that tonight’s show is very, very personal to me.”

Sitting down on a stool, Celine motioned towards a giant screen that began to show photos and footage of her family as she sang the first notes.

The footage, which was captured by a fan at a recent concert, has been doing the rounds on social media this weekend, touching the hearts of so many around the world.

Earlier this summer, Celine opened up about the tough decision to leave René to take up her residency, and the heartbreaking promise she has made him.

She told USA Today: “René says to me, ‘I want to die in your arms.’ Ok, fine. I’ll be there, you’ll die in my arms.”

The couple are parents to 14-year-old René-Charles, and four-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson.
