Do you sob your way through movies, and worry about being considered weak or a cry baby?

 

WELL, this is your lucky day, as it has now been decided that people who cry during movies are actually the strongest people out there.

It all boils down to empathy- and people that have it tend to be strong individuals. 

 

Crying during emotional scenes means that you care about other people's situations, and this actually takes a lot strength.

If you cried your eyes out when Mufasa died in The Lion King, then you are stronger than you think. 

 

If you are strong enough to be strong for someone else, even if they are a fictional character, then you are showing extreme levels of empathy.

You’re strong to the point that you understand where the character is coming from and allow yourself to feel what they are feeling. 

 

Nobody should EVER be considered a whimp for caring about another person... end of story!

People can also cry during a film because they are overwhelmed by the artistic genius of it, not necessarily because they are upset. 

 

This is called Stendhal Syndrome, and in its more advanced forms it means that a work of art can move you to a state of physical and emotional symptoms.

The moral of the story here is, crying during films makes you strong.
