It was one of the most heart-warming pregnancy announcements of last year, and despite some drama along the way, there is good news today for the couple at the centre of the viral ‘Baby Buns’ video.

Dana and Arkell Graves are celebrating this week, after their son Kaleb – better known as ‘Baby Buns’ – was discharged from hospital after 11 months in intensive care.

Dana and Arkell became internet sensations last year, when they shared their touching pregnancy announcement via YouTube.

Having struggled to conceive during their 17-year marriage, and suffered four miscarriages and a stillbirth, Dana was overjoyed to discover that she was 19 weeks pregnant.

She shared the news with her overwhelmed husband Arkell by surprising him with a bag of ‘buns in the oven’.

Just weeks after taking the internet by storm, however, there was heartbreak for the couple when Baby Buns arrived weeks ahead of schedule.

The outlook was bleak as Dana and newborn son Kaleb were left fighting for their lives, but the pair rallied and pulled through to survive.

Kaleb went on to spend the best part of a year in an intensive care unit while he grew stronger and healthier, and yesterday marked his return home from hospital.

Dana and Arkell took to their Facebook page to share a video of their gorgeous little one’s return home, writing: “Kaleb is riding down the highway, and now he is asleep on his first car/limo ride home. We give God all the praise!”

As you can imagine, Facebook went into meltdown over the amazing announcement, with the video going viral and hitting headlines all over the world.

One woman summed up the general consensus with her comment, which read: “Thank you so much for sharing his story with us; your family with us. Since your video announcing your pregnancy to today…we have loved and prayed for you!”

We are so delighted by this amazing news.
