We’re very excited about the impending arrival of the new royal baby next year.

While it’s widely believed that the Duchess of Cambridge is about three months pregnant with her third child, Prince William has let slip that the little one may arrive “sooner” than we expected.

During an official visit to Spitalfields Crypt Trust, a charity that supports those dealing homelessness and addiction in East London, Prince William spoke to a midwife on duty there.

According to OK!, he told the midwife: “All the best with the midwifery, I may see you sooner than you think".

After the meeting, the Duke of Cambridge and doting dad was presented with gifts of three wooden owls, one for George, one for Charlotte and of course, one for the new baby too.

“We don't want arguments,” William joked as he graciously accepted the gifts.

Chatting to barber Taz Kabria at a men's hairdressers next door to the charity, he quipped: “I don't have much hair, I can't give you much business”.

We’re very intrigued by his remark – is he winding us up or might the royal baby be here sooner than we thought?

Yesterday Kensington Palace announced that Kate will be making a return to her royal duties soon.

She has had to step back from royal duties because she was suffering from severe morning sickness, known as hyperemesis gradivarum.

The Palace released a statement on Twitter confirming Kate will join her husband and Prince Harry at a reception for World Mental Health Day on October 10.

“The reception on Tuesday 10 October will celebrate the contribution of those working in the mental health sector across the UK”, the tweet read.

Kate has been an advocate for several mental health campaigns, most recently appearing in a video encouraging parents to talk to their children about feelings and emotions.

In the video, believed to be recorded in January, Kate appeals to parents to encourage their youngsters to “be open about their feelings”.

Kate is acting as a spokeswoman for The Anna Freud Centre for Children and Families and is fronting a campaign called “You’re never too young to talk mental health”.

The campaign teaches children about “big” and “small” feelings, and to listen to their friends when they need to talk.

In the past, Kate has admitted that she struggled with a lack of confidence, after becoming a mother for the first time.

We hope Kate is feeling better and we wish her all the best with her pregnancy.
