As if periods themselves weren't enough of a hassle, it's such a nightmare when prominent spots pop up during that time of the month.

And just because a woman's in the limelight doesn't mean she's exempt from the monthly skin terror!

Stacey Solomon's always been a refreshingly truthful voice in the celeb world, and when it comes to period breakouts she's just as open - and hilarious to boot.

"Oh hi hormones," the mum-of-two said on Instagram, "Anyone gets bored today feel free to come and play dot to dot on my face."

We've all been there!

It's such a nice change of pace to see someone so in the public eye being honest about the little blemishes that all of us have to deal with in life.

Stacey also led the way by recently taking a stance against edited photos and sharing photos to show that the images we see in magazines aren't real life.

The English singer kept up her candidness on her Insta story, joking while getting her makeup done that her breakout 'looks like a really ugly version of Orion's belt'.

The Loose Woman panellist said that she was feeling a bit peeved, not because of the spots necessarily ('a nice friend to have on my face'), but because 'it's that time of the month, so everybody better stay out of my way'.

The 28-year-old's Insta followers enjoyed Stacey's frank attitude about her period breakouts.

"Thank you for these posts, makes women realise that it’s perfectly normal to have imperfections," a fan said appreciatively.

One person wrote, "Shame more celebrities don’t post ‘natural’ photos like you... it might go some way to show girls (of all ages) what we all really look like without makeup, filters, etc."

The TV personality is definitely a positive influence, with another follower commenting, "You make me feel like I’m normal for not being perfect and airbrushed. Thank you."

We are so here for more posts like Stacey's!
