The little boy, who arrived on Saturday, is the first child for 35-year-old Scott and his wife, Kelsey Mayfield Porter.
The couple revealed they were become parents at the Jupiter Ascending premiere earlier this year and it certainly seems like the new arrival is everything they could have wished for and more!
The former Friday Night Lights actor took to Instagram today, writing: "McCoy Lee Porter. Born 5/23/14 at 4.16 pm. 8 lbs, 5 oz and 20.5 inches. 32cm cranium."
Joking that his adorable son was far from camera shy, the delighted new dad hashtagged the photo: "#ReadyForMyCloseUp #BabyBoyMcCoy."
Messages of congratulations have poured in since the photo's upload, with one fan writing: "Too cute. Congratulations. Welcome to parenthood. The only journey full of endless love."
Acknowledging the impact his little boy had on his and Kelsey's life since his arrival less than 48 hours ago, Scott uploaded another shot depicting himself and his son in a tender embrace and wrote: "Game changer. #BabyBoyMcCoy."
