This Grammy award-winning singer is known for the incredible relationships she develops and maintains with fans, so it's no surprise that many feel they can reach out to her during their time of need, as happened yesterday.

Taylor Swift, who recently revealed her beloved mother, Andrea, was battling cancer, took the time to chat with a fan who lost her mother in January and was struggling with the emotions brought about by yesterday's celebration of Mother's Day in the States.

Contacting the singer via Tumble, the fan wrote: "Today is Mother’s Day, a day most people spend with their mothers thanking them for everything they do. But, for me, I can’t spend this day with my mom because she’s in heaven."

Explaining the relationship she enjoyed with her late mother, the fan named Kaileen wrote: "My mom was my best friend, the one I laughed with, the one I cried with, and the one I loved with my whole heart."

Thanking the Love Story star for the role she played in helping her through her most difficult timesKaileen said: "For a while, I felt empty. But as you’ve done many times before, you filled that hole."

Considering the bond Taylor shares with her own mum, the stunning singer admitted: "You've lived through my worst fear. I love you so much and can’t imagine what you must be feeling today."

Taking the time to understand what Kaileen must be going through, Taylor wrote: "I’m so sorry you can’t spend today with her. It’s not fair, and there’s no reason why you should feel okay about it. No one should ever expect you to feel normal today."

Paying tribute to her fan's courage, the 25-year-old singer said: "I admire and respect your ability to put forth such a sunny, sweet disposition when you’ve been through something so dark and tragic so recently."

We can only imagine what Taylor's sweet words must have meant to Kaileen yesterday.
