A week after her son welcomed his first child, singer Sinéad O’Connor has taken to social media to post the first photo of herself with her beautiful grandchild.
The 48-year-old posted the sweet shot on her Facebook page late last night, accompanied by a rather appropriate caption which simply read ‘Granny rocks’.
Sinéad’s son Jake, 27, welcomed the gorgeous little tot last week with his partner, Lia, with the Nothing Compares To You singer confirming the wonderful news on her social media last Saturday.
Sinéad looks the very picture of happiness and contentment here, doesn’t she?
This latest news is a far cry from that which made the headlines a fortnight ago. The singer was one of many to criticise the decision by famed music magazine Rolling Stone to put pregnant star Kim Kardashian on its latest cover.
“Music has officially died,” wrote Sinéad, who also used a rather choice word to describe expectant mum Kim.
Well, what better way to put that drama behind her than embracing her new role as granny?
