The Part of Me singer has sent her social media followers into a spin this week by hinting that she may actually be expecting her first child.
Not known for shying away from a little bit of controversy every now and again, the 30-year-old took to her Instagram account to share a photo of herself wearing a necklace with the word ‘Mom’ on it.
Needless to say, Katy’s legion of loyal fans have gone into meltdown ever since, with Instagram followers asking “could it be?” underneath the photo.
Katy found herself at the centre of baby rumours last month when US OK! magazine ran a feature on her, claiming not only that she and on-off boyfriend John Mayer were planning on getting married, but that she was expecting the couple’s first child together.
Katy’s people were then forced to address the rumours with a statement, in which they claimed that she was ‘too busy’ to start a family right now.
“She is busy non-stop and the tour is very demanding. She could not do those shows if she was with child. She has to dance and fly in the air and do all these stunts – she needs to be in top shape,” the source said.
Katy has previously expressed her desire to become a mum, admitting that she would never let being single hold her back from starting a family.
