Main symptoms of Macular degeneration include:
 
  • Distortion, straight lines may appear wavy or bent.
  • Difficulty in reading or doing any other activity which requires detailed vision (like sewing)
  • Difficulty in recognising faces
  • Dark patches or empty spaces, which appear in your centre of vision.
  • The need for more light when reading
  • Increased sensitivity to glare
  • Decrease in night vision and poor colour sensitivity.
 
Early detection is vital so if you notice any of these symptoms or are worried about your sight then visit your G.P. or ophthalmologist.
