Ten things moms can’t live without

Coffee, coffee and more coffee
Before we became mums the ‘essentials’ list was quite different. We couldn’t live without a hair straightner, full make-up, sleep, sex, showers and Sky Plus. Since having our babies though, what were once absolute necessities are now luxuries. We don’t have time to straighten our hair, put on all our make-up, watch tv or have showers. And of course without sleep, there isn’t going to be much energy for sex. So instead we now rely on other essentials to get us through the day.

Smart phone
Smart phones can remember things that our sleep-deprived brains simply can’t
Baby wipes
They are in the car, in every handbag, in the buggy and in every room of the house.

Push-up bra and control knickers
Underwear created by engineers is the only way to look good in a fitted dress after having a baby. Boobs no longer stay up of their own accord...they now need serious lifting and pushing!
Comfy pants
We used to wear skirts, dresses and tight jeans on our days off...now you won't see us wearing anything but sweat pants...and we love it!
Sunglasses
To hide the bags under the eyes
Concealer
To hide the bags under the eyes when indoors
Hair bobbles and clips
When a mum leaves her hair down it ends up being pulled/dipped in ice-cream/in her eyes as she cleans the mess on the floor...life is easier when your hair is tied up
Dishwasher
Before the kids a dishwasher wasn't really necessary...you were only cooking for two people and half the time that might have been a take away. Now, however, there will be bowls, plates, forks, knives, spoons, cups, beakers, pots, chopping boards, new bowls when the old bowls are dropped on the floor, and a few more kitchen utensils for good measure…and that’s just for lunch.
More coffee...
OK so we know that several cups of coffee a day is not good for us...but we're pretty sure that falling asleep at our desk/while driving/while cooking is worse!
