Prom Beauty Dos

  • Drink plenty of water:

While you’re looking flawless on the outside, remember to stay hydrated.

You can apply layers of heavy duty makeup and look gorgeous (or none at all), but remember, the glow starts from within.

Start drinking eight glasses of water a day as far ahead of your Prom as possible, not to mention during the event itself. Your skin will thank you for it.

  • Consistent skin care:

Make a skincare routine and try to stick to it every day, so you’re skin will be prepped for make-up and tan if necessary. Don’t forget to exfoliate, if tanning if your thing.

Your skincare routine doesn’t have to be a complex one; just a cleansing, toning, and moisturising every morning or evening will do the trick.

  • Picking the right Prom dress:

Do pick right Prom dresses to suit your body type and personality. Every person has a beautiful, unique shape that can be catered for.

Try to explore different trends in Prom dresses to match with yours own, and maybe check with your group of friends to see that none of you choose the same dress.

Unless that’s the look you’re going for, of course.

  • Prior appointments:

If you have any pending waxing to be done (ouch), or threading your brows, manicure or pedicure, book appointments for all of these things in advance to avoid any last minute hassles.

Have your make-up ideas set in stone well in advance too.

Prom Beauty Don’ts

  • Spend extravagantly:

Do not spend entire savings on purchasing your dream Prom dresses. Many of us spend far too much buying a perfect dress for themselves that usually aren’t worth it for just one evening.

Do some decent research, look for every option and take your time choosing the perfect gown for the best price possible.

  • Crazy workout:

Some of you may feel the need to start going to a gym and do crazy workouts so that you can fit in your dream white prom dresses, but there’s absolutely no need for this.

Don’t change your figure and weight to suit a dress, your health is far more important. The right amount of exercise with a proper diet plan is more than enough for you, you’ll look gorgeous at any size.

  • Clash the fashion

Between the corsage, shoes, clutch bag, overcoat, nails, hair, make-up and dress, there are so many colours and patterns that could clash with each other.

Preparing each of these well in advance means that you’ll spot any colour clashing in record time, and no extra stress will be added.

  • Don’t forget to enjoy yourself

It’s your Prom, so make sure to have the best time possible, no matter how you look. Beauty may feel like the be all and end all of the event, but trust us, it’s the least important factor.

The day is a milestone in your life, don’t waste it worrying about your appearance, focus on having fun with your friends.
