Just a day after the details of Princess Charlotte’s christening were revealed, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have sent a special message to all those who sent warm wishes after Princess Charlotte’s birth.

A Royal representative took to the official Kensington Palace Twitter account today, to say thank you to all those who sent messages, cards, letters and gifts to Kate and William’s newborn daughter.

Speaking on behalf of the doting parents, the representative wrote: “The Duke and Duchess are very grateful for the wonderful messages they’ve received on the birth of Princess Charlotte.”

Sharing an incredible photo of the stacks upon stacks of mail received in celebration of Charlotte’s birth, they added: “Mail sacks with congratulations & warm wishes from across the globe arrived at St James’ Palace shortly after Princess Charlotte’s arrival.”

It looks like the Royal Twitter account will also be sharing a very special treat with us this weekend, with the announcement that the first official portrait of the Princess is set to be unveiled later tonight.

In a break from tradition, it is believed that the precious first public photos of Princess Charlotte with her brother, Prince George, were taken by none other than mum Kate.

We will be sure to share the photo once it has been tweeted. How exciting!
