Target Australia is being slammed online as a result of a T-shirt they were selling for little girls.

The T-shirt in question was bat-girl themed, and had a list on the front of it.

The controversial garment read: "Batgirl to-do list: 1. dry clean cape, 2. was bat-mobile, 3.fight crime, 4. save the world."

People have reacted very badly to the T-shirt, claiming that it is hugely sexist toward women.

One concerned mum said that the item of clothing was sending a bad message to little girls, that "they too can be super heroes, as long as they do the chores first!”

Target have removed the item from their online store, and also from the shelves.

"It absolutely wasn't our intention to cause any offence," a Target spokesperson said to Yahoo news with regards to the T-shirt.
