Lots of children get creeped out when they witness anything romantic between their folks.
But for this teen, finding a hidden love note from his dad to his mum was the sweetest thing ever. That’s because his father Mason had passed away months ago.
Imgur user ButAnywayHeresWonderwall uploaded a photo of the note, which he found while dismantling an old work bench that his dad made for his mum “when she got into metal engraving.”
Sharing the note, he said his dad passed away in February from a “ruptured artery.”
After beginning with “I love you Becca,” the husband went on to say how grateful he was to have her in his life.
“God truly answered my prayers the day he gave me you,” he wrote. “I know that these days are the best I’ll ever have, and I’m glad you’re in them.”
“I’m not sure if you’ll ever see this, but if you do, just know that I love you very much. If there is one thing I want in life, it is to be as good to you as you are to me. If I can do that, I’ll be the happiest man alive. I love you beautiful wife.”
Commenters on Imgur responded, praising his dad's romantic words and sending their condolences.
"This is romance. This is what being romantic is. Because he could never have known if she'd see it. But he knew. He took the time," said one commenter.
Another said, "That's beautiful! I'm sorry for your loss."
And, "Only real men express their feelings this way. What a real gentleman."
After an outpouring of support, the teen updated his post to add his thanks.
"Thanks for the love guys. You don't have to send me anything. I only ask that you love one another so there can be peace. Leave the world better than you found it."
