The transformation : Michelle Williams gets honest about having a teen daughter

Michelle Williams has entered a new phase of parenthood now that her daughter has hit her teenage years.

The 38-year-old is mum to 13-year-old Matilda, her only child with her former partner Heath Ledger.

Health tragically passed away in 2088 aged 28-years-old when Matilda was just two.

And now, on what would have been Heath's 40th birthday, Michelle has revealed a sweet update on what kind of young woman her daughter is turning into.

Michelle said, ''So far, so good! Every morning we wake up and I wait to see if the transformation has happened and if it’s turned into the next level I keep hearing about, but we’re not there yet.''

When it comes to dating, she feels like she bypassed the stroppy teen tantrums.

She went on to get real about life as a single parent.

Revealing that it can be ''scary'', she said, ''When you’re a single parent, and that element of provider and protection is missing, it’s scary…I always say to Matilda, “Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.”‘

She went on to say that she never gave up on love and hoped to find someone who made her feel like Heath did.

Michelle met Heath on the set of Brokeback Mountain and they welcomed Matilda in October 2005.

Michelle has since wed, marrying songwriter Phil Elverm in 2018.

We're delighted to hear how well Matilda is doing and that Michelle seems relatively unscathed by the teenage years so far.
