Angela Scanlon is celebrating her little girl Ruby’s first birthday today and there’s no doubt the mum is feeling pretty overwhelmed.
Every parent knows that the first year tends to go by in the blink of an eye.
One minute you’re giving birth in the hospital and the next you’re hanging up birthday bunting in the kitchen.
Angela took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt note about her first year as a mum.
She shared a photo of her daughter Ruby alongside the touching message.
The broadcaster wrote: “One year ago this amazing little nugget landed into our lives in the middle of a snow storm! She is pure magic.”
The One Show host gushed: “Her cheeky little head & gummy smile, the knowing look that suggests she’s got it more figured out than any of us, her face when she’s having a kip, her fluffy duck hair & her delicious chunky thighs, her determination & her dirty little laugh.”
The mum admitted she has never felt love like the love she has for her darling girl.
“I could never have imagined loving a soul quite as much. Today, we’re taking her for cake & toasting the wildest year of our lives.”
She added: “PS. I know many with older kids will be laughing their arses off. We know it’s only getting started.”
Angela gave birth to Ruby on February 25, 2018. Ruby is Angela and husband Roy’s first child.
Happy birthday to little Ruby. There’s no doubt she’ll be treated like a princess today.
