Kim Overton had it seriously tough in terms of completing her family.

The American mum was diagnosed with fibroid tumours in 2005, and, in her words, "This is when things got tough."

She had 11 tumours removed from her uterus, but was miraculously able to fall pregnant with her first child, a healthy baby boy, Dillon, who she chose to have without a partner.

A few years later, she was fiercely determined to have baby #2, but sadly, she realised it wasn't going to happen.

“When I was having an emotional conversation with my cousin about my infertility experience, I told her that I simply needed a new uterus! We both laughed. If only things were really that easy," she wrote on her blog.

"But then we started talking about my cousin’s beautiful 26-year-old daughter, Cydnee, who was a mother to two little girls."

"I don’t know exactly what my cousin said to her daughter after our conversation, but later that night, Cydnee, like an angel, called me and said she would be more than happy to help. She would be my surrogate.”

In July 2015, Cyndee became pregnant.

Nine months later, the whole family, including Kim's boyfriend and his child, was present for the emotional birth of baby Oliver.

The beautiful experience was captured on camera by photographer Leilani Rogers, and the images are simply stunning...

The waiting begins...

Followed by new life...

Finally, she gets to hug him for the first time...

And another hug...

The whole family together for the first time

And one with the woman who made it all happen...
